Christmas treats!

Going home for Christmas, means sleeping in your old bedroom with your boy friend, your older sister across the hall with her 4 month old and hubby, and a brother arriving at midnight Christmas eve after 4 hours of driving.
This is what Mel was looking forward to all week, she insisted, she and boyfriend; Mike take there presents home and open them in the morning with the family. He protested a little before giving in.

Christmas morning pancakes are on the table and everyone is in the lounge ready to open presents, Mel gives Mike his favorite cologne,(it's no longer in production and his bottle had just run out), they oh'd and ah'd over all the presents, until there were only 7 identical little boxes left each address to Mel love Mike. Each little box was carefully wrapped in gold paper and reveled a ring box with a chocolate truffle inside, with a letter delicately painted on it.   M M R R Y E A.....?

Mel and the family chatted as she rearranged them to read:
MARRY ME
Everyone turned to Mike standing with a final gold wrapped box in hand ....

I smiled and beg the question "did he say all I want for Christmas is you!?!"

Hiking can be rewarding

Poor Caitlyn, was hung over one sunday morning, just a light champagne headache, but still, in no way keen for the hike she had promised her man they would do today.
It was around 7am, he was up and dressed, putting bread in the toaster, gathering hiking snacks and filling up water bottles as  they normally would. Caitlyn pulled up the covers and called pitifully from the bedroom,"I don't wanna go." He brought her the toast and told her to get dressed they had to do the hike early. Reluctantly she dressed and ate the toast, they jumped in the car and drove out past the Swan valley Cafe's and eateries and into the national park.

Caitlyn complained the whole trip, "my head hurts" "it's cold" "i'm hungry"
After an hour of trekking up hill sides and across an empty rivers they came to a look out point which Caitlyn dutifully noted that you can actually drive to by car...  Her man had enlisted the help of Caitlyn's older brother to set up a picnic for them, fresh fruit and muffins, chocolate pastries and hot coffees were all laid out on a blanket for them.
A hand written sign had been propped up behind the coffee's  "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"
She said Yes!
Hugged her man and gave him a quick kiss before diving for the strong skinny latte.
After a swig of coffee and taking a not so lady like sized bite of the nearest chocolate croissant Caitlyn realised in her caffeine haste she missed something, she turned back to her man where he stood with a ring in hand. A white gold with a cushion cut diamond and halo surrounds.  Caitlyn had pointed the style out years ago, when celebrity Molly Sims got engaged in 2011. He remembered Caitlyn had discussing it with a friend in a gossip magazine, they had only been together for 7 months at the time.

Todays Lessons:
Men take note of the small things when they want to and hiking can be very rewarding.

In a Spanish Plaza... In Spain

Today's bride.
So much fun!
Hi how are you? Tell me about hour wedding! (Me super excited to chat to a new bride)
Bride: We are getting married in a Spanish plaza... In Spain.
She described a chapel wedding in the centre of town, then long white tables laid with a buffet reception in an open marque over part of the cobble stone plaza. Her sister and mother were over from Ireland and she brought along her bestie for good measure.

Side note perfect combination for wedding dress shopping.
Mum: everyone wants mums approval; but it can go 3 ways, 1, helpful, she knows you an she knows what you like and will help you find your style. 2, "oh darling you look good in everything"  or 3, honey, I know you like that but I'm not sure that it's the most flattering/appropriate/other manipulative words that make you feel like your sixteen again... " why don't you want a veil? Just try one on... Oh darling...."
The sister: A precious honesty, much like that you only get from a 5 year old. If you look frumpy she will tell you, cause she loves you... And cause it's a little fun :)  if you look hot, she will be the first to tell you, "oh wow you actually look HOT! Like seriously look at your waist/butt/boobs!!"
The bestie: kind of a stand in sister with out the tinge of jealousy still honest but normally more tactful... If she's a married she is happy to relive the wedding experience an she will guide you though the craziness of trying on gowns, tragic makeup and hair trials and plan an amazing & appropriate hens night. If she is single, she's normally playing it fast an loose, going with the flow an flowing your lead, until it comes to the hens night then she's the boss.

Anyway
Wedding in Spain, oh amazing so romantic!
How did you guys meet:
Bride: at a wedding actually I thought he was a total jerk!
Me: what? What happened?
Bride: I hated him, but he took me on a date and he was charming and sweet, once we got to know each other we are actually really alike...
And How did he propose:
Bride: ah well, he didn't really..
Me: you proposed! Ohh tha...
Bride: Noo. Well we had spoken about it a lot, we have been together 5 years. I said the 29th of May would be a great weekend to get married, and he said ok, and we picked out a ring together, it's getting sized, I think it will be ready in a week, ish.
I love brides who are super casual, they are so fun an soo unpredictable, nope nope nope yep. Yeah I'll take this one thanks.

Happy Friday

Alison, Michael and the little tin boat.

Alison and Michael have been together for 5 years, she in accounting, he a FIFO manager off the coast of WA. They met on a blind date, set up by mutual friends, they clicked straight away and the rest is history.
Their wedding is planned for November 2014 and this is how Alison described their engagement:

The Ring: Michael designed himself, a stunning ruby with a diamond halo, what sets this apart from the Tiffany style is the profile. From side on the four claws are gathered together with a secondary row of diamonds and the white gold band is finished with a single row of diamonds.

The Proposal: Michael proposed on bended knee in a little tin boat.  One quiet Sunday the couple went fishing, Michael had packed an esky with wine, grapes, cheese and crackers and a little red ring box. They buzzed along the Swan river to their favourite spot, as Michael worked up the courage to ask the question. They stopped the little boat an dropped anchor, Michael rocked the boat a little as he got down on one knee and held out the ring box.
They enjoyed the moment and sipped on wine discussing what was to come next, an engagement party, a wedding and a honeymoon! They arrived home to find Friends and family waiting to congratulate them, although it was a complete surprise to Alison, everyone else was in on the little tin boat plan.

We wish Alison and Michael all the best for their up coming nuptials!
Congratulations!
